SECTION #8: FOULS

Rule 54 . A player may NOT hold, push, hack, charge into, and/or other wise IMPEDE on opponents movements with contact.  A personal foul will be charged to a offending player.

 Rule 55 . Displacing an opponent form a position legally attained throught physical contact is a foul.  A player owns his spot on the court within the width of his shoulders and the space DIRECTLY above his head and shoulders.

Rule 56 . A player fouled in the act of shooting will be awarded Free throws, (if his shot is unsuccessful, 2 shots on a 2-pt attempt and 3 shots for a 3-pt attempt) if his shot is successful he will be awarded 1 free throw only.

Rule 57 . A team shoots (1+1) BONUS free throws on the opposing team's 7th team foul.  Only in the second half will 2 shots be awarded after the 10th team foul.  There are NO shots for player control fouls (just possession of the ball).  In the First Half, there is NO double bonus at the 10th team foul (1+1) only, unless it is a two shot shooting foul).  Players delaying the game in order to gain an advantage do to the running clock will be assessed a technical foul (referee's judgement) .

 Rule 58 . A player will be accessed a Technical foul for any of the following:

  • 1.  Grasping the rim,

  • 2.  dunking during warm-ups

  • 3.  delaying the game,

  • 4.  striking the backboard during a shot,

  • 5.  excessively swinging elbow with no contact,

  • 6.  applying a full court press with more then 25-pt lead,

  • 7.  cursing, taunting or baiting players, officials or spectators and

  • 8.  acting in a unsportsmanlike manner.

 Rule 59 . All Technical Fouls will be penalized with two (2) free throw but the team that maintained possession of the ball at the time of foul retains possession.

Rule 60 . A player is disqualified from the game on his sixth (6) personal foul or the second (2) technical foul or first (1) flagrant foul.

Rule 61 . The penalty for a FLAGRANT FOUL is two free throws and possession of the ball and the ejection for the player who committed the flagrant foul.

Rule 62 . When and only when a team that has five or less players and no substitutes, each player CAN commit seven (7) personal fouls but their seventh personal foul will the same penalty as a flagrant foul (two shots and possession of the ball, and the offending player will be disqualified from game.)
